young, fun and a pastel pretty real wedding

Jenna & Daniel’s wedding makes us smile here at a fair affair, and their happiness is certainly contagious.  Not long married on the 11 June, they made sure that fun and silliness was on the menu for their big day, and it was all captured perfectly by Jessica Christie Photography.

From Jenna Smith: Daniel and I met at a friends house on the 20th November 2010 and according to Daniel I captured his attention from the minute we met!  Although he worked tirelessly with mutual friends to set up a second meeting, it took until March the following year to meet up again.  This time it was at Monsoons and after a few too many wines, Daniel, a true gentleman, walked me safely home, and so began the start of a great friendship.  As our friendship grew, so did our feelings for each other.  Three months passed by and we were heading to the Adelaide River Races, little did I know, Daniel decided it was time to purchase a double swag … things were serious … conversations were had, and it was official, we were in love!

Wedding Style: We decided against a sit down meal opting for 2 hours of canapes on the lawns instead, so that guests could mingle and get to know each other better.  Our styling was planned with Jess from White Rabbit Design and Events, and with some inspiration from Pinterest.   We truly felt that Jess’s vision for our wedding was perfect, so perfect in fact that we only needed to meet twice to organise how the wedding would look, she truly read my mind!

The Gowns: My dress (Loren Chiffon) came from Grace Loves Lace on the Gold Coast and was made with the most gorgeous lace, sourced in Calais, France.  I found the dress online and accidentally called them after hours, but even though they had closed for the day they still took to time to look after me. and I couldn’t recommend them anymore highly.  I wanted my bridesmaids to wear colours that reminded me of vintage weddings of the past, so I chose the prettiest pastel dresses in 2 different colours as I wanted them to feel unique and special.

The Highlights: RoyMackonkey our friend’s band, took the time to learn our first dance song for us which was a complete surprise for Daniel.  Also our wedding car’s engine blew up! But it was a blessing in disguise because a local ford enthusiast and his partner came to our rescue with their 72 Ford XC Cobra and their new Ford GT Cobra in matching colours which was seriously awesome.

Photographer: Jessica Christie Photography. A good friend, who was fun and willing to give ANYTHING a go, including getting the bridal party to climb trees and run out in the middle of Gardens road and stop traffic! She was just brilliant and we cannot thank her enough.
