Hi NT Brides & Grooms,

This years wedding fair ‘An Urban Affair’ is being held on Sunday 5 March at the Six Tanks Brewery on Mitchell Street.  Entry at the door is $5 per person, or $20 which includes a fabulous VIP gift bag valued at over $100 (only 50 available).  The Bar will open for alcohol at 11am, with coffee available all day.

Last year A Fair Affair hosted its first wedding fair and as we enjoyed it so much we have decided to host one every year for the next few years.  Last year’s theme was Rural, and if you have been following us and happened to watch the video filmed by Mel Silva you’ll see that A Rural Affair was a truly beautiful event.

The theme for this year’s fair is Urban, and we are so very lucky that Six Tanks have kindly agreed to be our hosts for the day.  Space is very limited inside the Brewery so this really is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with our vendors.

One of the main differences between this wedding fair and other bridal expos is that no business will be closed in by walls.  Think of it as catching up with a few friends at a bar over drinks! plus you’ll be able to meander throughout the area weaving in and around vendors in a space that will be beautifully decorated everywhere you look.

So save the date, and we look forward to seeing you there.

An Urban Affair is our 2nd wedding fair and we are seriously excited about it.  After the success of A Rural Affair ‘the wedding fair for rural lovers!’ we were compelled to have another one.  So in early March 2017, we are hosting another fair with a collection of amazing hand picked vendors who are all very creative and talented and see weddings not just as their business but as their passion.  After all that’s what getting married is all about, the love and passion between a couple.

So this years theme is Urban – ‘a contemporary affair for modern day lovers’ think modern industrial, classic sophisticated and sexy urban!

To launch An Urban Affair we started with a photo shoot, and we are really thrilled with how beautiful all the images turned out.  Our location was The Merchants of Good Times Stone House Wine Bar & Kitchen, who opened early especially for us, turned all the lights and aircon on and supplied us girls with bottles of Champagne, who could ask for anything more! We seriously can’t thank them enough. On a side note, Stone House would be an amazing wedding venue.

Our 3 stunning models were real life couple Tamika and Àlix and our beautiful bridesmaid was Jade, Tamika’s sister.  It was a family affair on the day and the love between all 3 of them shows in every shot.

Our aaamaaaziiing photographer was the very talented Nichole Taylor, who effortlessly captured the feel of our wedding fair in every stunning shot.

On the morning of the shoot the girls went down to the new Beauty of Tatum located in the Jape Homemaker Village.  They were superbly looked after and made even more stunning by Kani and her team and you can see from our shots that they did a stunning job. Oh and their perfect tans were by Impact Hair Studio in Winnellie, just in case you were curious!

Our stunning wedding gowns were supplied and altered to fit by Just Formals (who have just moved to the Stuart Highway next to Dressy Dresses).

Our peach perfection bridesmaids dress was from the hidden gem Frock Me on Aralia St in Nightcliff, which seriously if you haven’t been in there you should.

All our jewellery and shoes were generously supplied by Me and My Llama in the Star Arcade, Darwin City Mall. Sometimes the little things make the shot, like Alix’s horn necklace, it was truly fab.

Lastly our lovely little bouquet of pale pink and peach peonies were given to us by Maria Okwa, who just happened to have them sitting in her kitchen looking so pretty, and if she hadn’t given them to us we definitely would have pinched them!

An Urban Affair is for 1 day only, Sunday 5 March 2017, 10am to 5pm and the location is Six Tanks on Mitchell St. Darwin City, so save the date as we’d love to see you there xo

This light-filled engagement shoot by Nichole Taylor Photography captures the gorgeous Natalie and her hunky fiancee Adam just perfectly.  Not only are Natalie & Adam the sweetest couple you could ever meet, they are one seriously talented (obsessed) fishing couple in the NT!  You can view all the images from their ocean inspired wedding here!

a rural affair – The Wedding Fair for Rural Lovers

A Rural Affair was a refreshing alternative to the traditional bridal expo, showcasing a handpicked collection of vendors who specialise, or love to work within our rural areas.

One of the main differences between A Rural Affair and other bridal expos was that no business was confined.  A Rural Affair was a chance for local handpicked wedding vendors to showcase their creative style at a free-flowing event.

Visitors meandered through the area, weaving in and out of a space that we set up like a real outdoor wedding. It was definitely jam packed with wedding inspiration, there were celebrants at the end of the aisle, fresh florals designed by our florists, guest seating set out with furniture from hire companies and our reception space was created by local wedding stylists.  Our vendors were also on hand to answer any questions; cake designers, photographers, stylists, stationery designers and more.

A Rural Affair was a free wedding fair that was held during the Freds Pass Rural Show on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May 2016.
