an outback affair – the photoshoot

This year it’s all about adventure, and why you should have a Top End Wedding just like Miranda Tapsell!

For our location we decided on Umbrawarra Gorge which is located 145 km south of Darwin (not far after Pine Creek) and 115 km west of Katherine. We read somewhere it’s not far from the turnoff….so not true! Well we eventually arrived to Kelly and Josh waiting for us.  Josh was carving a stick into a fishing rod and Kelly was just wading in the cool water.  Things got a little bit panicky when our Models Ruby and Cohen didn’t show up on time and I told Kelly and Josh that if they didn’t show up in the next 30min then they were going to have to be my models.  Josh of course was keen but Kelly freaked! Anyways, they weren’t there in the 30min so we decided to trek to our destination.  We took turns carrying ‘the cloud’ which was soooo heavy and Little Miss Flowers’s 6+metre garland she made us.  Kelly was praying the whole time “please show up Ruby, please show up” it was pretty funny!

Just before we arrived at our chosen spot (don’t believe anyone when they say it’s just a short walk from the car park…it’s not), we heard a voice in the distance calling out my name.  It was Ruby and Cohen, thank all the saints! After a quick dress change and a little makeup we were ready to go.

We are all definitely thrilled with the outcome and except for the epic trip and the gazillion mosquitoes we had a ball.

Huge thank you to the following:

Becky Saywell from Tourism NT ~ Kelly Judd Photography ~ Joshua Pucci Celebrant (Kelly & Josh Elopement & Wedding Packages) ~ Little Miss Flowers ~ Ruby & Cohen (our models) ~ Evie Russo (my assistant and make-up artist) and Spotless Dry Cleaning who did an amazing job with drycleaning minor repairs on ‘the cloud’.
